2015 Craft Project List
In 2014 I published my first Craft Project List for the year.
I made a mistake with that list.
I was OVERLY ambitious, considering I have a small child and 3 businesses to run, but I still had hope that I would find the time I needed to do all the things I wanted.
And then reality hit.
Life got busy.
Everything else needed doing and the housework and gardening don’t do themselves!
And it turns out that children need a LOT of attention! ; )
Plus, in the small amount of time I did have, I got distracted by other shiny new projects, when I should have been working on ‘the list’.
My craft ADHD remains incurable.
So this year I’m going to be more realistic. I’m going to plan to do less and hope to do more, if that makes sense?
Despite my lack of completion for last years list, I don’t want to give up on the craft project list idea altogether because I do like to have some kind of plan for all the things I want to do, but I’m definitely going to be more conservative about what is possible and forget the Super Woman act.
I’ll be honest, sometimes I see all the quilts and knitting and sewing and other crafts that other bloggers are churning out and I feel a bit lazy and like I’m simply not as committed to the ‘crafts’ as they are. I wonder how they do it all because most of those bloggers have children too. Some have lots of them! And they still manage to make one of everything and blog about it while balancing at least one child on their head and simultaneously whipping up a gourmet dinner made from the organic ingredients they plucked from their perfectly tended garden before sunrise that morning.
How does one measure up?!
My answer is that I don’t and I can’t so, instead, I’ll just settle for doing what feels doable right now.
So, here’s my 2015 Craft Project List of the things I definitely want to get done this year:
- Sew at least 1 item of clothing for me
- Sew at least 1 item of clothing for Lil Miss P
- Japanese Folded Patchwork Quilt
- Rocket Age Quilt
- Animal Applique Quilt
- Knit at least 1 item for me
- Knit at least 1 item for Lil Miss P
Knit 1 pair of socks– Done! See this post Finish Road 15 Quilt– Done! Pics to come
- Quiet Book
- Hello Sun/Hello Moon Quilt
- Animal Applique Quilt
- Christmas Tree Skirt
- Birthdays hanging sign for my Mum
- Make 1 woodwork item – probably a doll’s bed for Lil Miss P’s Birthday
- Sheets, quilt and knitted blanket for doll’s bed for Lil Miss P’s Birthday
- Complete at least 3 scrapbook pages
That’s my realistic list.
There’s bound to be plenty more projects in between, but this is keeping it real and possible.
