About

If you’ve arrived here, you’ve probably found me completely by chance.

Things are pretty new around here, although I’m not new to blogging. I’ve been doing this for a few years now and recently decided to add a new blog to my collection, so I can share my main obsessions – craft and motherhood.

I’ve always been into crafting, in one way or another, but about 10 years ago it become my main hobby as I learnt a few new crafts that I just couldn’t put down.

Now, there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t do some kind of craft work, even if it’s just cruising through Pinterest looking for inspiration for a new project.

I’m always on the look out for what I can do next.

The focus of my craft projects tends to be knitting, quilting, sewing, scrapbooking and crochet, but I dabble in any craft that takes my fancy at the time and I’ll share it all here.

I also have my own hand dyed yarn business called Little Red’s Yarn. You can check out my store here.

While crafting takes up a lot of my time, my biggest focus and joy in life is my family and raising our two kids.

I am Mum to a 4 year old little girl (Miss P) and an 18 month old boy (Master L) and step Mum to a 13 year old boy (who I’ve been with since he was 1).

The kids inspire me more than ever to keep crafting. I’ve chronicled my step Son’s life through scrapbooking since I’ve been with him, I’ve made him quilts and art for his walls, and now with Lil Miss P and Master L here I’m in complete overdrive with making all sorts of things for them and their rooms. I know there’s only so many quilts a kid needs, but I just.can’t.stop! And I realise that while they probably don’t really care about most of the things I am making them, right now, one day I hope they will realise all the love and effort that went into their many hand crafted items.

It is one of my main goals in all my crafting to make items that the kids not only enjoy in their own childhood, but go on to treasure them as adults and maybe even hand them to their own children.

There are a ton of craft blogs out there, and I don’t expect I’ll be leaping to the top of some craft blog top 10 in a hurry, but I’m getting it started and I look forward to sharing with you.

So, sign up in the box to the right if you fancy sticking around and seeing how this all works out.

You never know, we could actually enjoy each others company : )
