Baby Boy Sweater

I love babies in hand knits.

There’s something so snuggly and cosy about a baby wearing a warm knitted jersey or being wrapped in a lovely woolen blanket.

I’ve already knit quite a few clothing items for Miss P but now that Master L is here, it’s been fun to knit up ‘boy’ clothes too.

One item that I really wanted him to have to wear is a little ‘old man’ sweater. A proper button down cardigan style sweater with the roll neck. So when I found the Baby Sophisticate Sweater by Linden Down on Ravelry I was so excited.

It’s the perfect style for what I was looking for and had the added bonus of being seamless. I am HORRIBLE at doing seams on knitting so anything seam free is a winner for me. Plus, it’s a free pattern so it was a total winner all around!

I decided to take one of my previously dyed yarns that I wasn’t really keen on, and over dye it to create a colour way with deep blues, browns and a slight grey that I thought would be perfect for the sweater.

indie yarnThis sweater is knit up in a worsted weight so it knits up really quickly. And it’s obviously small in size so even with my slow knitting style it didn’t take me long to make.

It was finished just before Master L arrived and just recently he finally got to wear it.

He looked so darn cute in it! My perfect ‘lil old man’ in his sweater. Gorgeous!
