I recently became totally OBSESSED with the Lecien Woodland fabrics.
I hunted far and wide just to get as many of the fabrics from the theme as I could find, with no real clue what I was going to do with them.
Eventually I had all the options available locally, without going online and buying more fabric, so I decided it was time to bring them together into a quilt.
It can be a little tricky sometimes to use a full theme of fabrics, so I decided to break things up a bit with some other coordinating fabrics.
Even then, it was a bit of a mission placing everything so the fabrics would show themselves off and not end up looking like a busy mess.
After a LOT of moving square after square after square trying to get exactly the right combination, I realised it would never happen and decided I was pretty happy with what I had in front of me.
Time to stitch it all together.
A single fabric piece of half price fabric for the backing, and natural wool batting since this quilt is for Lil Miss P.
I kept the quilting simple on this quilt. This, again, was to offset the busy-ness of the fabrics.
And it’s done!
I’m really happy with how this quilt has turned out, and it’s already a favourite piece.
Lil Miss P has had a few tummy times on it and I love seeing it used.
Although tummy time isn’t a favourite just yet (she get’s so frustrated!), the quilt will get pulled out daily so Lil Miss P’s can practice on her woodland quilt.
And one day, it will be hers to take with her when she goes out into the big wide world.
